lycian tombs 2

The iconic tomb facades at Fethiye in Turkey; carved into into the sheer rock face around 350BC by the Lycians. These tombs were broken into and robbed many centuries ago. Sadly, these magnificent monuments have been blemished by modern graffiti.

  1. Good shot. Lots of subtle variations in color and texture. If you cropped it so only the tombs were in the shot it would look like something from one of the “Lord of the Rings” movies.

    1. I deliberately went for a wide/long shot for context. But I might experiment with some alternative crops. I took a lot of photos of these tombs, from a range of perspectives and I do intend to revisit some of the alternative shots in the future. It’s such an amazing and awe-inspiring place…

      Thanks for the feedback.
