Beach of the Dead V, 22 October 2011. This my old housemate Sarah posing in her fantastic zombie Geisha costume.
Beach of the Dead is a “zombie walk” that takes place annually in Brighton near to the time of Halloween. Inspired by the classic horror film genre (particularly the George A Romero films), participants garb themselves up as the undead and parade en masse in character from the Victoria Gardens on Grand Parade to the Concorde 2 night club on the seafront.
This year an estimated 4000 people took part in the march.

Oh yeah. I will say, I haven’t seen that many Geisha zombies. Great portrait and use of lighting. Natural or off-camera flash right?
Thanks. There were at least two Geisha zombies at the march, but I’m guessing they’re more prevalent in Japan. No flash (it was a beautiful sunny day, so I didn’t bring my speed flash), just a bit of curve/contrast tweaking in Photoshop.
This is fantastic. I laughed with evil glee when I first saw her eyes, and then I gasped at the brains. So very good. Great shot!
