A slight detour from the Château de la Roquette (I’ve been processing my images a little randomly – more château pictures coming in the future 🙂 ). For a day trip, we drove to Roquefort-sur-Soulzon and on the way passed the magnificent Viaduc de Millau.
Constructed in 2004, the bridge crosses the River Tarn near Millau and is 2460m in length. It is currently the tallest bridge in the world peaking at 343m, with the road deck situated 270m above the ground below. It was designed by the French structural engineer Michel Virlogeux and British architect Norman Foster.
Love the elegance of the structure – it looks like a series of dancers. Great capture.
