Neglected ruins

Roman columns at Salamis in Cyprus

More neglected broken Roman columns at Ancient Salamis in north-eastern Cyprus. These columns were lying beside one of the dirt tracks that link the main sites, forgotten and a little overgrown like many of the ruins here that have yet to be properly excavated.

For a general description of Salamis see here.

  1. Superb photo. I love these old ruins…I remember when I lived in Athens many years ago, and just seeing them in the parks and at the side of the road. And no one paying them any mind.
