Acropolis of Gortys

Found it! The Acropolis of Gortys (or Gortyn) on the Agios Ioannis hill a kilometre or so north west of the main Gortys Roman site. The site was occupied during neolithic times and contains of mixture of Minoan, Greek, Roman and Byzantine archaeology, including defensive walls still 6m in height some places and a temple dedicated to Athena Poliouchos, which was later converted to a basilica. Though most of the good stuff has been excavated and moved off site.
