This is one of a pair of wind turbines situated on the beach promenade just behind the port at Southwick.
Yup, the Brighton and Hove beaches are for suckers, the real action is a little further down the coast at Southwick! It’s much quieter and more secluded; plus there’s these guys, an industrial port, a power station, a long breakwater for fishing, and a nice little cafe that does surprisingly good traditional British grub (shame about their rubbish milkshakes though). Oh yeah, and no fake hippies playing drums.
If I had a dog, I’d definitely bring it here for walkies.
That’s an amazing shot. I never considered what it would look like from the bottom of one of those looking up.
Thanks! It’s not too often that you can get so close to one!
Really gorgeous tones and colours to this image, Stevie! It’s not that often you can get up close and personal with this beasts. Have you seen you can do a boat trip around the offshore wind farm? I really must get round to posting my shots from that day!! 🙂
Yeah I have and we do plan to do it at some point. I imagine it’s great for photographers, you should definitely post your shots.
I will dig them out… I’m pretty sparse in the run up to Christmas…
Cool to get that close! Lovely sky to go with it.
I actually sat under it for ages, waiting for some cloud to go past!
