I came across this small stone marker in the wetlands of Tommy Thompson Park, Toronto.
It reads: “This pike spawning area is dedicated to the memory of Dr. E. J. Crossman, fisheries scientist, a world-renowned expert of esocids, a dedicated educator and a committed conservationist.”
Tommy Thompson Park is becoming something of regular haunt of mine, and you can read my paraphrased history of this nature park in a previous post.
what an amazing memorial
It’s cool but also very easily missed!
Nice to be commemorated. Esocids sound fun! See if you can get a shot of one. 🤣
It’s quite a strange commemoration as it’s quite small and hidden amongst the grass!
Nice find! 🙂
Thanks! I pretty much stubbed my toe on it 😁
Haha!
